Puppy Love

A few years ago, our 15-year-old dog died and left an odd emptiness in our home.  After a few months, I began the online search and happily scheduled our new puppy’s transport from TX to New England.

She was delightful!

But as our Fall schedule developed we were traveling a lot!  Unexpectedly our puppy was being cared for half the time by my girlfriend and half the time by us.  It was not a good situation for this sweet little pup and understandable she became depressed.  I felt horrible.  She felt worse.  After a few months of Spot not jumping up to greet me when I got home from work or from a trip, we decided I had to try to find a home for her where her ‘people’ would actually be home!  She was so sad – I had to do something to help her.

The next Sunday after our Church service I told my friend I had to find a new home for Spot.  It was the very first time the words were spoken, and it hurt my heart, but I wanted my friend to be the first to know.  Delightfully someone overheard our conversation!  They were looking for a dog and wanted to contact us.   They came over that afternoon at 3:00 and met us and our puppy.

We were going to be out of town that whole week so collectively we decided they could ‘try’ her for that week, sort of a test run, and make sure it was a good fit!   It was perfect!

God is so good to arrange all the people in this little dog’s life so she could find the perfect home! We each feel blessed to have been a small part of her rescue.
