This morning I felt compelled to contact the phone company even though it was not even on my lengthy to-do list.
I’ve been dealing with our phone service for more than a month. Lines were working one day and dead the next. And I’d also been working with pricing. Our ministry really needs to get all their costs down. So this morning God prompted me to call again and work on the pricing. The woman on the other end was gracious (yea, God!) and really wanted to help. When she finally found every discount she could give us and had them all verified with her supervisor, she repeated again (she had been fascinated by the ministry name) that she loved the name ‘Redeeming the Time’.
I thought, ‘OK, God, are You up to something?” And I began to tell her about our ministry, our web address, etc. I told her why we changed our name from A Heart for the Home to Redeeming the Time. I told her about our weekly Pic. Devotionals and many of the radio messages that are on our website. Each time I took a breath, she was inserting, “Wow! I really needed this today. I’ve been very discouraged lately.”
Then she told me she lived in the Dallas area. And I told her that if I had known she was so close, she could have attended our conference this weekend. She was so sorry to have missed it. She said she’d look at the website as soon as she got off work. She wanted to tell all those working around her. They were discouraged and having problems in their marriages. I couldn’t believe my ears when I heard myself saying to get a list of those interested and I’d have a RTT conference just for them. She was flabbergasted! She couldn’t believe someone would rearrange their schedule to accommodate her and her working friends.
Now listen to what she said, “I’m so glad I took this call. You see, I don’t work in the financing or billing department. I’m just Customer Service.” And I said, “This is a divine appointment! God is moving!’’
Please pray with me that she calls this afternoon. I’ll keep you posted!

PS: The phone company woman came to the next Redeeming the Time conference and she brought some friends with her to be encouraged too! Praising God!
