In 1996, I felt led to go on a trip with other believers into China to take in Bibles. I didn’t have a lot of money but knew that God honors cheerful givers so I “tithed” the cost of the trip to the ministry with whom I would travel.
Just prior to the deadline for getting in the money for the trip, our car broke down and needed expensive repairs. The manager of the auto repair shop listened as I tearfully explained that I was going to use the money which was now being spent on the car to go on a trip to China to take in Bibles. He made me “An honorary employee” of the company and gave me the employee discount of 40% on the repairs.
Then, my husband called me and told me that his company had decided to give him a bonus just because they liked him! They had never done anything like that before or afterwards for anyone that we knew. The bonus amount was a hundred times the amount of my original tithe to the ministry with whom I was traveling and totally covered the cost of the car repairs and travel expenses.
I knew God supplies for all our needs and had heard that you can’t “out give” Him. This was a wonderful lesson in His loving care.
