Worship God alone – not self or celebrities

Quiet Time Takeaway:
Worship God alone – not self or celebrities.

My NOTES:
”People want to be celebrities, to receive god-like worship, not for what they accomplish but just for celebrity status itself. But we are made to give worship to God alone.”
N. Gumbel paraphrase

I’m not able to truthfully pray Psalm 26:1-3… King David says, ‘I’ve lived a blameless life, trusted and not faltered, passed the tests God gave me, and depended on God not on myself.’ (Paraphrased)
Perhaps I’m not alone, but that doesn’t matter to God. While King David was blameless, trusted unconditionally, was steadfast in devotion, and always depended on God to guide him; I have to beg God’s mercy here … so I pray:
‘… do not take away my soul…deliver me and be merciful.’
Psalm 26:9-11

My TAKEAWAY:
Worship God alone – not self or celebrities.
So I pray, Lord, deliver me from false worship.
