Quarter Inch of Fabric

We didn’t see the con coming, and it hit us hard. Unbeknownst to us we choose an irrational business partner who stole a lot of our savings. So to put ‘all hands on deck’ I went back to work by starting a small design business crafting high end tote bags and purses to help pay our bills. It was a time that we learned to make every dollar count.

I was more in prayer at this time in my life than when we had a lavish income. God was rearranging the focus of my trust. I needed the awakening.

God blessed me with an amazing team of professional contract sewers to assemble the bags, but I often did the cutting on the ultra expensive fabrics. I needed to make each yard produce a profit.
One night I was working with a particularly costly fabric that had a large pattern repeat, it would be critical to have it match up when assembled.

That night God showed me He is into the fine details of our lives. As I laid out the pattern on my cutting table, praying the limited yardage would fit the pattern and still match the fabrics design, He gave me the quarter of an inch I needed to be able to cut not just one but three of our bags! It was a lavish blessing. In His abundant grace I know He was in that cutting room making the very edge of the fabric count as a blessing!

He does that for us; He makes every ‘quarter inch ‘ of our lives work to make a difference for others. He did it that night as I cut out the cute bags that in turn helped other women carry their loads. He does it all the time – if I’d only take the moment to realize His provision!
