“Girls Pray!”

Our family was driving from Minneapolis to southeast Wisconsin after a college visit for our daughter. The weather report was for a snowstorm and we hoped to stay ahead of it. I prayed the entire way but when we got near Madison, behind a semi-truck in the passing lane, we hit black ice and my husband said, ”I have no brakes!” I yelled to the sleeping kids, “Girls pray!” Our car slid around and hit the semi’s back tire, then continued to spin until we stopped on the shoulder facing forward and completely safe. Before we got there, so many vehicles were losing control that there were already state patrol cars on the scene. The tire marks from the semi, creased our front license plate and served as a reminder that God spared us that day.
