An Unexpected Lost Friendship Found

Three years ago, my husband and I went to a Christian dude ranch in Colorado that hosts marriage retreats and family camps. They also host Veterans and their families, giving them a place to heal. We loved our week there as we met some to the nicest folks. Before we left, we volunteered to go back the next spring to help open the camp for summer guests. Then Covid came and cleared our calendars.

Time marched on, our lives got busy, and the camp was off our radar.

BUT as only God could arrange, a few weeks ago, we randomly went out to a small distillery, where we ran into the couple from the ranch who handles all the volunteers! When I say random – it was. We were doing a bourbon tasting, and the woman standing behind us started talking with our daughter when she recognized my husband’s voice. Honestly, I kept trying to place them, but my husband recognized Ken immediately – and my daughter surprised me when she invited them over to our house to continue our conversations! My heart sank, as I wasn’t sure I had anything to offer them at home – but we all headed to our house, and I made a very impromptu dinner. It was truly a divine night, set up our Divine God! Unexpectedly but gladly, we rescheduled to volunteer this next Spring.
